Àvert Brasserie Wine Dinner

I was invited once again to visit Àvert but this time for a fantastic wine dinner event. Not one to turn down wine of any kind, I gathered myself and trotted into an evening of fun. As you can imagine, Àvert did not disappoint!

reception

Oysters and Pearls & Caviar paired with Louis Roederer, Brut Premier Champagne Nv. This was a fantastic way to start the evening. Champagne and pearls with caviar was the perfect pre-dinner intro.

first course

Scallop Crudo, Apple & Tarragon, paired with Domaine Schlumberger, Pinot Blanc 2015. This was an incredibly refreshing dish. The flavors of seafood paired with the Pinot Blanc melded very well together. Another great dish!

second course

Lavender Honey Duck Breast, Baby Carrots & Citrus Duck Jus, paired with Delas Freres, Croze Hermitage Les Launes 2015. Perhaps my favorite dish of the night! The duck breast was as tender as butter! Incredibly flavorful when paired with the red wine. Definitely a dish to ask for again when I visit!

third course

Venison Chop, Sweet Potato with Blackberry & Pomegranate, paired with Chateau De Sales, Pomerol 2012. Just when I thought the next dish couldn’t be any better! The venison shop nestled on the sweet potato mash was simply amazing! It was a dish that revels any Foodnetwork star! Chateau De Sales wine paired with this dish was a wonderful selection.
