Decorating with Boxwood

Decorating with potted boxwood is perhaps one of the easiest and practical ways to dress up your yard, garden or patio. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for years. Unfortunately I’ve kept myself busy with other things and really haven’t dedicated the time to implement this idea into my yard. They will crack and break if not stored away during the harsh winter months. Although you can find faux terra-cotta pots and urns, (which is probably the more practical way to go) I simply prefer the latter. And the fact that I don’t have green thumbs might have something to do with it as well. Would you believe me if I told you I actually had lots of potted cacti one summer and they all died on me because I didn’t care well enough for them! boxwood-ldp8

boxwood-ldp03boxwood-ldp09Decorating your summer garden with boxwood via @ladydianaspearls.Watering the potted boxwood on a regular basis and making sure they have proper drainage is key, otherwise you’ll end up with either dried up twigs or rotten little bushes. Trimming them into shape really doesn’t happen right away depending on how big you’re starting off with. You will definitely need lots of patience in order to get the look you want. Perhaps I’ll finally start with small pots and gradually work my way into the larger ones a few at a time. I must say the end result is beyond beautiful. As you can appreciate by the photos above, decorating with boxwood is simply charming and will add a touch of rustic romance to your home that only nature can deliver!
